Is he there to guide you, represent you, or symbolise a specific person in your life? I remind you to avoid distractions and stay focussed on your future direction; seize the opportunities and use your creative and spiritual talents to change the world.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Why so many different names in Tarot?<\/h3>\n<p>Tarot decks come in all shapes and sizes\u00a0<em>well almost,<\/em>\u00a0with different themes and well, yes, personalities&#8230; While many decks share the same format and card-meanings, they each\u00a0have their\u00a0own voice and imagery, which they use to tell\u00a0the story of\u00a0Tarot. Some decks follow traditional teachings closely, others will invite\u00a0you to explore\u00a0an entirely different journey. Some use classic names for each card, others provide alternate names for the cards, or the suits&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>For <a title=\"Order Nine Lives Tarot\" href=\"https:\/\/ninelivesart.com.au\/\">Nine Lives Tarot<\/a>, I relied on\u00a0three main areas of influence:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 30px;\">Artistic inspiration &#8211; the pictures conjured up in my mind for each card<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 30px;\">Personal Tarot experience &#8211; based on 20 something years of fascination :)<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 30px;\">Research &#8211; reading books and online resources to\u00a0broaden my approach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a whole, my\u00a0deck follows the classic format and interpretation introduced in the\u00a0<em>Raider Waite Smith<\/em>\u00a0Tarot. <strong>Aside\u00a0from the\u00a0artwork<\/strong>, the main\u00a0deviation from the classic\u00a0format\u00a0is that\u00a0I depict the suit of Spiritual growth, Creativity and Fire as <strong>Rods<\/strong>\u00a0instead of Wands, which are\u00a0more common in<em>\u00a0<\/em>classic RWS decks &#8230;\u00a0The Morgan-Greer Tarot was my first deck,\u00a0<em>I still have it and love it :) &#8211; <\/em>having used this deck\u00a0for so many years, I believe it helps explain my\u00a0affinity with\u00a0the suit of\u00a0Rods :)<\/p>\n<p>While creating\u00a0Nine Lives Tarot, I\u00a0researched and reflected on\u00a0similarities, differences and connections between the suits and their symbols&#8230; Where the difference\u00a0was mainly in the use of a descriptive word <em>i.e<\/em>.\u00a0<em>Wand vs Rod<\/em>, the close connection I already had\u00a0to Rods, made it easy to choose this depiction in my own deck:<\/p>\n<h3>The Cycle of Wood and Fire:<\/h3>\n<p>An\u00a0oak tree grows\u00a0and\u00a0sprouts <strong>leaves<\/strong>, <em>symbolising spiritual growth<\/em>, and <strong>branches<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>symbolising creative energy and growth<\/em>. Introduce <strong>Fire<\/strong> and\u00a0the branches\u00a0will\u00a0burn&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>flames<\/strong> represent the\u00a0fiery energy\u00a0associated with the suit, they\u00a0also symbolise the transformation from\u00a0wood to charcoal, which in turn\u00a0provides nourishment for the\u00a0next\u00a0tree\u00a0to grow,\u00a0and\u00a0the cycle to continue&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-784\" src=\"https:\/\/ninelivesart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rod-fire_aa.jpg\" alt=\"Rod and Fire\" width=\"220\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ninelivesart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rod-fire_aa.jpg 220w, https:\/\/ninelivesart.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rod-fire_aa-174x300.jpg 174w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Share your story :)<\/h3>\n<p>Do you have a connection with the King of Rods you would like to share?
